I took a few days away from the online world (including Substack), and when I returned today I felt myself quite happy to be opening up Substack and not any of the other social media platforms. Like you, Michael, Substack feels like the right fit for me. There are, of course, many reasons for this — but one of the main reasons for me is that I feel that the connections I’ve made on Substack have more substance. We read each other’s carefully written pieces, and then we share more in-depth and carefully considered comments — both of which just enhance the experience.
Also, it was doubly nice to come back and see that you had given me such a lovely shout out! So thank you for that. I feel much the same about your work. :)
